It has been reported that the Broncos are shopping Al Wilson. It would be absolutely foolish to get rid of him. He is the backbone of the entire team. He is one of the top three players at his position, and he is one of those truly great guys that a quality organization should keep around as long as possible. Plus, he's still in his prime. Yeah, I'm a bit sentimental, but Wilson is too good to get rid of because of salary problems. Fix that shizzle Mike and Pat.
I know that Wilson is on the block because of so-called problems with his neck. But the guy did get clearance to play the very next week after his injury. There's something fishy about this thing. If Wilson legitimately needs to get out of the game, then the Broncos should tell him that. Lives are what counts. But if the Broncos are being crafty to cut salary, then someone should give management a swift kick to the collective groin.
And in other not-so-newsy-news, the Broncos have picked up another Cleveland Browns defensive lineman. We're getting to the point where the Broncos are giving money to completely unknown guys simply because they played in Cleveland. And it's not like any of 'em played well. Nope, they just played there. At least Courtney Brown was quasi-well known. He was a former #1 pick. This new guy is just some random fellow. He might be good, he might be bad, but either way he played in Cleveland and that's good enough for us.
MP's Broncos Update
Former NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle convinced "all the league's owners to adopt revenue sharing, arguably the most successful form of socialism in U.S. history. The reason the NFL is so dominant is because the NFL is basically Marxist. This was Rozelle's greatest coup, and everybody knows it. But you'd never guess that from watching the NFL Network. Marxism is not a talking point." -Chuck Klosterman
Regarding McDaniels/Profanity-gate: I don't think the guy should have apologized for anything. He didn't say anything unreasonable in the circumstances; in fact he didn't say anything that I haven't said at my job (which is moderately comparable). I think he apologized because he is a caring parent, which is a good thing, but I hope he doesn't change his ways. I like his fieriness.
