MP's Broncos Update

Former NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle convinced "all the league's owners to adopt revenue sharing, arguably the most successful form of socialism in U.S. history. The reason the NFL is so dominant is because the NFL is basically Marxist. This was Rozelle's greatest coup, and everybody knows it. But you'd never guess that from watching the NFL Network. Marxism is not a talking point." -Chuck Klosterman

Regarding McDaniels/Profanity-gate: I don't think the guy should have apologized for anything. He didn't say anything unreasonable in the circumstances; in fact he didn't say anything that I haven't said at my job (which is moderately comparable). I think he apologized because he is a caring parent, which is a good thing, but I hope he doesn't change his ways. I like his fieriness.

This Just In...

The Broncos are now 3-2 favorites to win the Super Bowl. The elimination of the Colts and Patriots, homefield against the Steelers, and the sheer suckiness of the NFC make the Broncos the team to beat. Of course, I 've been saying as much all year, but I'm just a tiny voice in the screachy cacophony of sports-fans and writers. Be wary, though. . . .don't count your chickens, people.

Even though it was a wild game, the Steelers gave the Colts a thorough beating they won't soon forget. I don't think the Broncos could have gone into Indy and completely controlled the game. I also think Pittsburgh has tamed the ever-elusive momentum pony and is heading toward the sunset on the horizon. Right now, facing Pittsburgh at Mile-Hi will be almost as tough as playing the Colts in Indy. Despite being Super Bowl favorites, the Broncos absolutely must head off the confident charge of a Steelers team that is playing top-notch on both offense and defense. It's gonna be a great game next week. More to come. . . .
