MP's Broncos Update

Former NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle convinced "all the league's owners to adopt revenue sharing, arguably the most successful form of socialism in U.S. history. The reason the NFL is so dominant is because the NFL is basically Marxist. This was Rozelle's greatest coup, and everybody knows it. But you'd never guess that from watching the NFL Network. Marxism is not a talking point." -Chuck Klosterman

Regarding McDaniels/Profanity-gate: I don't think the guy should have apologized for anything. He didn't say anything unreasonable in the circumstances; in fact he didn't say anything that I haven't said at my job (which is moderately comparable). I think he apologized because he is a caring parent, which is a good thing, but I hope he doesn't change his ways. I like his fieriness.

WR Sightings?

There are a couple of big-name WR's still on the market - Eric Moulds from the Bills and Javon Walker from the Packers. The Broncos showed interest in Moulds early on but it looks like he'll be traded somewhere else. Javon Walker is still potentially available.

Walker injured his ACL early last season and didn't play at all. But he had a pro-bowl year in 2004 as one of the top receivers in the league. He would be a great veteran wideout for Denver if the Broncos manage to swing a deal. He's as hardworking as Rod Smith and has none of the baggage of guys like T.O. or Keyshawn who were available earlier in the off-season.

There's little chance Walker will come to the Broncos unless the Broncos give up one of their first-round picks, but even then it might be a steal. I see him as a younger, taller Rod Smith, which is exactly what the Broncos are looking for.
