MP's Broncos Update

Former NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle convinced "all the league's owners to adopt revenue sharing, arguably the most successful form of socialism in U.S. history. The reason the NFL is so dominant is because the NFL is basically Marxist. This was Rozelle's greatest coup, and everybody knows it. But you'd never guess that from watching the NFL Network. Marxism is not a talking point." -Chuck Klosterman

Regarding McDaniels/Profanity-gate: I don't think the guy should have apologized for anything. He didn't say anything unreasonable in the circumstances; in fact he didn't say anything that I haven't said at my job (which is moderately comparable). I think he apologized because he is a caring parent, which is a good thing, but I hope he doesn't change his ways. I like his fieriness.

Slashin' the Nose, Spitin' the Face

Recent activity:
-Broncos sign Lepsis (on the cheap) - skullduggery of the best kind
-Broncos cut Trevor Pryce (who probably WON'T resign) - neither here nor there
-Broncos cut Mike Anderson (might resign at lower price) - replaceable cog
-Broncos cut Jeb Putzier (will definitly be picked up by another team) - sheer tomfoolery, aside from Rod Smith he was the only guy Plummer threw to consistently, plus the guy made great catches and was a legit scoring threat in the red-zone. Wesley Duke is the heir apparent, but he's untested. We'll have to wait and see.

The Broncos save a bundle by cutting the three players above. They'll try to use that money to resign Gerard Warren, who may suffer without Pryce taking all those double teams. They're also going hard after Ron Dayne. They'll get Dayne who will fight it out with Bell in training camp, which could be a very, very good thing. According to the Post, the Broncos are also going after John Abraham of the Jets. He's the type of pass-rusher the Broncos have been lacking and very well could make up for the absence of Trevor Pryce...But the deal isn't done yet.
